I have remained under investigation by Surrey Police since March 2024 without charge. I dispute the allegations against me.
But this post concerns a separate question: what happens when someone under investigation also asks the police for protection?
I have repeatedly written to police raising concerns about conduct directed towards me and its impact on my life. I want those concerns assessed on their evidence, independently of the allegations being investigated against me.
My status as a suspect should neither validate my complaints nor disqualify them.
My latest request for help
On 22 September 2026, I again wrote to police requesting assistance.
On 23 September, the investigating officer told me that a report of harassment would need to be made through the usual reporting route and investigated separately by someone else. She also said relevant information could be included for the CPS.
That response identifies a process. It does not determine whether my concerns are substantiated, and I do not present it as a refusal to investigate.
What I need now is clarity about which of my previous concerns have been formally recorded, what assessment has taken place and what further information is required from me.
A person asking for help should be able to establish whether their concerns have been recognised as a separate report, rather than remaining within correspondence about an investigation against them.
Two questions must not become one
Whether there is evidence supporting allegations against me is one question.
Whether there is evidence supporting the concerns I have reported is another.
Neither should be answered merely by pointing to the existence of the other.
I am not asking police to accept my account without scrutiny. I am asking for the same disciplined approach to each account: identify the alleged conduct, examine the available evidence, assess any risk and explain the decision.
What I am asking Surrey Police to clarify
I want a written explanation of:
- Which of my previous communications have been recorded as separate reports or complaints. - Whether any assessment of the conduct I reported has been completed. - What additional information or reporting steps are required from me. - Which team will consider any separate report and how I will receive updates. - Whether any immediate safeguarding or protective advice is appropriate.
Where information cannot be disclosed, that should be explained. Where a decision has been made, I want to understand its basis.
Accountability without a public trial
I am deliberately not identifying another person or publishing private evidence here. I am not asking readers to decide disputed allegations or contact anyone involved.
I am asking the police to demonstrate that concerns raised by someone under investigation receive a fair assessment in their own right.
The prolonged uncertainty has taken a substantial personal toll. I need an evidence-based response to my requests for help, not assumptions based on which role I occupy in another investigation.
I am willing for my account to be examined. I am asking for it to be examined.
I welcome a substantive response from Surrey Police and will fairly reflect it in an update.
